Now She’s after Five Guys in Deepdale

Me and the other half have had a bit of a fall out – You see I got the wrong end of the stick – I thought she were breaking up with me when she said she wanted Five Guys from Preston – It’s only twigged now after I’ve booted her out in the rain that she was talking about the new Five Guys restaurant at Deepdale retail park in Preston that opened on Monday this week.
I’d better go let her back in at some point.

What’s the Big Deal about Five Guys?

In 1986 this iconic brand was created by 5 family members who wanted un-compromising quality for their food.

Five guys was born in Arlington, Virginia and was known for having only the freshest ingredients. So much so that they boast they don’t have any freezers for their produce – it’s all prepared fresh daily.

Arlington, Virginia, 1986. Jerry and Janie Murrell gave their five sons a choice, ‘Start a business or go to college?” The business route won and the family opened the first Five Guys – named after the five brothers.

To this day, the formula remains simple, ‘Burgers and Fries cooked to perfection’, in keeping with Jerry’s philosophy of “To perfect and to serve.” The family is also still very much involved, meeting every Tuesday with every member still very much part of the business.

Ridiculous sized portions of skin on fries, Thick Milkshakes with Whipped cream and the freshest smashed burger patties with hundreds of combinations of toppings makes five guys a truly unique and customisable experience.

With over 140 stores in the UK, Deepdale is the most recent to open and we travelled to Preston to see what all the hype was about.

Now – I’m no stranger to Five Guys, Having regularly visited the one at the Trafford centre and also the one in Kirkstall just outside of Leeds – I know what a satisfying experience I’m in for.

There’s a certain standard one comes to expect from fiveguys – The burgers all come wrapped in a perfect square of foil. They should have a sticker on to help you identify which burger corresponds to which item on your ticket. Your topping should all be on there as you asked for – no matter how complicated. You’ll have more fries than one human is supposed to eat – and they do this on purpose cos they know others will want to share them too…

Food Blogger Lancashire Foodie headed down to the store on the opening day to check it out.
